October SOTM Home For The Holidays Blog Hop

If you came from Jen Patrick's Blog, then you are in the right place! For a complete list of blog hoppers, visit Melinda's Blog.

Christmas is my favorite holiday and I just went to town with October's Stamp Of The Month, Home For The Holidays.

I used the Snowhaven paper packet. I used cuts from the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge, and Art Philosophy Cartridge. For embellishments, I used Silver Shimmer Trim, Black Striped Twill Ribbon, Slate Diagonal Striped Ribbon, Sparkles Clear Assortment, Sequins Silver Assortment, and White Enamel Stars:-) I stamped the images with Cranberry Exclusive Inks and Glacier Exclusive Inks. For cardstock, I used White Daisy, Black, Slate, Glacier and Ruby (I wanted to tone down the brightness of the red.) I also added some velcro and Hook and Loop Dots to make the pages interactive.

First Project is an interactive layout--it's a "Peachy Original."

My second project is a wallet mini album. I went to You Tube and was inspired by the tutorial from vanilladaze.

Artfully Sent Balloon Ride Pop-Up Card

I'd like to repost my Design Team project at My Sheri Crafts. :-)

I got a brand new Cricut Cartridge that I wanted to play with from Close To My Heart the newest released Artfully Sent. There was a card there that was perfect for this challenge. The card base is Crystal Blue cardstock, and the designer papers are from Close To My Heart's Balloon Ride (retired). I added a Balloon Ride Picture My Life card on the front, which I embellished with Gold Shimmer Trim. The resin flower at the right lower corner is from Ivy lane Assortment (retired). I added some Bling Gems Gold Assortment to bring attention the sentiment and to hold the banner up inside the pop up card.

Designed Decor Red Magnetic Chalkboard

I did some chalk art for my little boy's 3rd birthday party on the Designed Decor Red Magnetic Chalkboard. It was Batman-themed, so I decided to do a little something-something for the kitchen. I had no idea something so simple and elementary as chalk would be a difficult medium! The chalk art got lots of compliments and I had fun doing it, so I decided to share it.

Color Dare Challenge #112

Here are this week's color inspiration at Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge:

I decided to use September's Stamp Of The Month, Family Is Forever for this week's challenge. I made a card for my mother-in-law, whom I am close to. I stamped the tree trunk and branches using Desert Sand Exclusive Inks then embossed it. I inked the leaves in Juniper and Pear Exclusive Inks. The center hearts were stamped using Cotton Candy Exclusive Inks. I added some Sorbet Hearts from Chalk It Up Assortment. The sentiment was stamped using Juniper and Sorbet Exclusive Inks. The background is Sorbet Cardstock with Chevron Embossing Folder. I layered the Sorbet Cardstock on Kraft Cardstock and added glitter on the tree trunk to finish off the card.

We'd like to see what you come up with. Come join us at Color My Heart Color Dare!

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #110

Here is this week's color inspiration from Color My Heart Color Dare:

I made a fall-inspired card using the color scheme. :-) I embossed a Sunset Cardstock with a Cuttlebug folder and layered some Barn Red Cardstock and Jubilee Paper "flags" to add interest. I also cut the sentiment from Cricut Artbooking at 2" real dial size off using Scaredy Cat B&T paper. To finish off the card, I added some Gold Shimmer Trim, a pumpkin from Pathfinding Assortment and Bling Gems Gold Assortment.

I hope you'll join our challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare!

I used Sketch 104 from the Cardabilities website for my template. Granted it's an older sketch, but I love the versatility of it and it could be used in a variety of projects. I altered a Goodwill find ($3.00, people!!!) and came up with this....a storage solution for my Picture My Life Cards!

I used Skylark paper (retired) to cover the mini chest of drawers. For a neater look, I covered the edges with Lagoon Hearts Washi Tape. The front "knobs" were Teal Acrylic Flowers (retired).

I followed the sketch with a little modification. I layered a small Skylark Picture My Life card to a doily that I had cut at 4" using Juniper Cardstock. I cut some roses from page 69 of the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge at 4", 3" and 2 1/2" using Lagoon Cardstock. The leaves were made from Sweet Leaf Cardstock, cut freehand. I added some Skylark Complements(retired), more Teal Resin Flowers and a zip strip to tie everything together.

I made a gift box, cut at 4" using the Artiste Cartridge. I added some Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon to the handle and Thistle Cardstock for the background frame. The scallop Glacier frame was cut using a Spellbinders die. I stamped the cupcake image from Artiste using Thistle Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad and Canary Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. The sentiment from Artiste was stamped using Glacier Exclusive Inks Pad.

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #108

Here's the color inspiration for this week at Color My Heart Color Dare:

My little boy just started school, and he had done well so far. I decided to make a card for his pre-pre-school teacher. (I call it that since he's barely 3 lol!) I made a 5"x"7 card using Chalk It Up paper packet. For the sentiment, I trimmed a card from Picture My Life Chalk It Up Scrapbooking Program. I further embellished the card with a Teal Acrylic flower (retired) and some Chalk It Up Assortment. I inked the edges with Sorbet Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad.
